Oooooh, my favourite restaurant in the city… what time were you there?? If you were there around 11:30, you would’ve likely seen my little guy, jumping around like a Mexican jumping bean and making funny noises… :)

Hey, we were there right around noon…sat behind the fish tank! Big 6′2″ long auburn hair guy (my son), Ella, Aaron, Mike!

Did you find that the tan tan restaurant was heavily focused on shrimp? That’s something I’ve noticed each time I’ve been there, not that I don’t like shrimp but I do like variety as well.

Yes, I hadn’t thought of that…but we do order a lot of shrimp dishes there…they seem to be in an abundance!

We are new to the city
so very happy to find this dim sum restaurant recommendation –
    we went on Sunday.
    Very disappointing.
    Limited selection.
    Really quite expensive.
Yes there are a lot of shrimp dishes but that is not enough.

Having said that – what we had was tasty.

Tulse Luper – I’m sorry your experience at the New Tan Tan wasn’t better. We like it there, but a lot has to do with our ‘tradition’ of going there.

Does anybody have any recommendations for dim sum in Edmonton?

I don’t think Edmonton is known as a dim sum mecca in the food world!

I’d just like to reply to tulse luper on Marie’s behalf (not that she needs defending or anything… :) )… there is actually a very good selection of dim sum at Tan Tan – however, they don’t always have them on the carts going around the room… those tend to be filled up with the staples that everyone seems to enjoy. As you can see from Sue’s pics above, there is a fairly substantial dim sum menu that you can always ask for if what’s on the carts isn’t to your liking…
