new tan tan restaurant
Most people who dim sum (yes, it is a verb) have their favourite dim sum place. Ours is the New Tan Tan Restaurant, which is right on 97 street, behind Hardware Grill. We went there yesterday to celebrate Victoria Day. I like it because the staff are great with kids. The food is hot, fresh tasting and not greasy.
But you have to time your visit there very very carefully. Come too early, before 11:30 am, and nothing is ready. Come too late, say much after noon, and things are gone. 11:45 am is the prime time at the New Tan Tan.

I love that you have a time range; well versed in the art of Tan Tan dim sum I take it!
No favorites, as I rarely get people convinced to go, but if it does happen we usually end up at Golden Rice Bowl.
I’m rather fond of Dynasty Restaurant in Old Strathcona for dim sum. That said, I haven’t tried many different places.
Jumbo is the one for me usually.
